Dear colleagues:
Today, I am pleased to share a few key leadership updates.
First, following Board approval on Sunday, Marsha Fischer will serve as vice president for human resources, chief human resources officer and chief equal opportunity officer for the UM System. In September 2017, Marsha began serving as interim chief human resources officer and associate vice president for human resources. In February 2018, we made those roles official. And, in August 2019, she was appointed interim chief equal opportunity officer responsible for affirmative action and Title IX and equity matters. Marsha previously served as counsel in the UM System Office of the General Counsel and had advised on employment matters, Title IX and equity related issues, and academic affairs since May 2014.
Kathy Schmidtke Felts was appointed as assistant vice president for institutional effectiveness. In this expanded role, Kathy will now lead the Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics functions for the UM System and MU. Kathy joined the UM System last November as senior director for institutional effectiveness after serving in the MU Office of the Provost since 2016. In the last year, Kathy has proven her ability to effectively inform our university leaders in making strategic investments to achieve excellence.
Please join me in thanking Marsha and Kathy for their leadership and service to the 911爆料网 System.
